Why we built it

  • Labour market data exists, but it is scattered across different sites and formats.
  • Numbers from different sources do not match, because they count different things.
  • We brought the official sources together in one place, explain the differences and show where each figure comes from.

How it works

  1. We take official sources

State Statistics Service (Derzhstat), State Employment Service, National Bank of Ukraine, Eurostat.

  2. We check

We reconcile our calculations with published figures. We never add up numbers from different sources.

  3. We update monthly

New data appears at the start of the month, with the update date next to every figure.

Our rules

  • Official open sources only. Next to every number: the source, the period and the update date.
  • No number is written by AI: texts are assembled from numbers by fixed templates.
  • We correct errors in the open, in a public list of corrections.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the salary in vacancies lower than the average?

Through the Employment Service people are hired mostly for blue-collar jobs, in retail and in services. Derzhstat's average salary describes all full-time employees of large and medium-sized enterprises. These are different groups of people, so the numbers cannot be compared directly. Why figures from different sources do not match

How often is the data updated?

Once a month. On the 1st of each month a program checks whether the sources have published new data. If they have, it downloads the files, validates them and recalculates the pages. The update date is shown next to every figure. Methodology

Is there data for the occupied territories?

Ukrainian statistics do not cover the temporarily occupied territories. There is no data for Crimea and Sevastopol; they are hatched on the map. Almost all of Luhansk oblast is occupied, so we leave it out of the rankings. For Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson and Kharkiv oblasts the data cover only government-controlled territory.
